From a chance meeting at Milton Keynes scale model show back in 2001 the seeds of our model club were planted. Since those early days we have developed into one of the most well respected clubs in the country.
West Norfolk IPMS grew from an idea, by two like minded individuals, to form a club that attracts modellers from Norfolk and Lincolnshire. The club has even had members from London, now that's dedication for you!
Sadly, David Crump, one of our founder members, passed away in 2012 but we keep his passion for modelling alive with the David Crump Memorial Trophy which is presented each year to the winner of the clubs' annual Christmas Competition.
Achievements: two junior members achieving seconds in the international show, no mean feat considering the age group is up to sixteen. Many seniors have also won various competitions around the country.
Over the years the club has actively supported charities such as the RLNI, Alzheimers Society and East Anglian Air Ambulance. We usually attend at least ten model shows up and down the country culminating with the biggest, Scale Model World at Telford International Centre in November.
The club like many of its kind has had its ups and downs, but has steadily grown in size and become a welcome haven to all those 'boys with their toys'.
